Skin Needling

Book Your Complimentary Consultation

Skin needling, or collagen induction therapy, is a natural way to induce collagen and elastin production for all skin types. We use a state-of-the-art cosmetic microneedling device to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, activating the body’s natural healing response. This process encourages cell renewal, repairs damaged skin and minimises the appearance of scars, pigmentation or facial lines. Multiple treatments over time will help to strengthen the epidermis, leaving you with improved skin texture and tone.

Skin needling treatments can be customised to treat all skin tones, from fair to dark. With adjustable needle depths, our needling device allows clinicians to customise each treatment based on your skin type, dermal challenges and desired outcomes. This level of precision enables targeted treatment across different areas of the face and body, helping you achieve refined, balanced results.

Our highly qualified skin therapist uses a micro-needling pen that contains ultra-fine needles. When the pen passes over the skin, the needles create micro wounds in the skin to trigger a natural healing response. Using a cosmetic micro-needling device allows us more control in those hard to reach areas like under the eye, nose and around the lips.

Prior to treatment, our skin therapist will conduct a thorough skin scan to analyse your skins condition. A treatment plan will then be created to suit your needs and help you reach your skin goals.

Each skin needling treatment will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Post treatment, you can expect some redness and your skin may feel slightly tight or sensitive. This will typically subside within 24 hours.

After approximately 3-5 days post treatment, you may experience some mild shedding of the skin. This is a completely normal response which may last anywhere between 2-3 days. Most people see an immediate result 7 days post treatment, however optimal results are achieved up to 3 months post treatment.

Our skin needling treatment also has the benefit of an add on infusion in order to enhance your results. Micro-Needling Infusion Treatments infuse potent serums into the skin to boost and treat specific skin concerns.

Tiny micro needles, create pathways into skin for the delivery of the serums. Infusions help improve skin texture and smoothness, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and help hydrate and even skin tone.

We recommend the use of a Vitamin-A serum for 2 weeks prior to your treatment. The EvolveMD Multi Active Serum is specially designed to prep your skin in advance to receive optimal results post treatment.

Post treatment, we recommend using the EvolveMD Advanced Hydrating  Serum as it plays a vital role in your skins ability to heal and repair whilst retaining moisture which will keep the skin plump and hydrated.

To protect your skin from harmful UV rays, it is important to use a sunscreen such as EvolveMD UV Sun Protection or the Tinted CC Cream. This is a specially formulated natural zinc sun protection, which can be used immediately after your treatment. For the first 48 hours, it is best to avoid excessive sun exposure, saunas, harsh chemicals and exercise.

Our skin therapists will provide you with aftercare information tailored to your treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments are recommended to see results?

The number of microneedling treatments required for visible results depends on what condition the skin is in when treatments are begun. Most find that a series of 6 or possibly 10 is needed to see clear changes in the complexion. Most people hoping to tighten and tone their skin will be on track with 6 treatments. Those who are seeking to diminish the depth of scarring generally require a minimum of 8–10 sessions.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime after microneedling is minimal, but you can expect to have several days of pink skin and some sensitivity. There will most likely be pinpoint bleeding during the treatment, which will stop almost immediately. The skin tends to take on a “bronzed” appearance for several days after treatment. This bronzed outer layer of skin will begin to flake off, revealing a fresh and glowing new you underneath. It is recommended that you stay away from the sun and avoid strenuous exercise 14 days following treatment. Additionally, it is recommended that hot showers, baths, hot-tubs and saunas are avoided for about two weeks after microneedling as well.

Is skin needling painful?

You may experience a mild warmth or tingling during the treatment, which typically settles quickly after your session. Everyone’s tolerance for discomfort is different; some people don’t mind the unfamiliar sensation and are surprised by the minimal discomfort. Other people may prefer to have numbing cream applied prior to treatment. Most of our derma needling patients rate the pain as 2 out of 10. We’ll check in regularly throughout your session to ensure you feel comfortable.

What kind of results will I see?

The best results are achieved by completing a series of treatments with microneedling. Although results vary from person to person, most will experience visible results after their first treatment. Fine lines soften dramatically, and scarring becomes significantly less noticeable. Microneedling has gained a strong reputation for rejuvenating sluggish, dull skin. Skin becomes noticeably clearer, smoother and more radiant.

What is skin needling?

Whether you’re hoping to address blemishes and sunspots or reduce the appearance of stretch marks, pigmentation, scarring or fine lines, skin needling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses a medical-grade pen to trigger the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. The small needle is moved across the skin to create tiny, evenly spaced punctures that penetrate the upper epidermal layer to induce a natural and controlled wound healing response that triggers collagen production.

What can I expect during my treatment?

Prior to your skin needling in Sydney, our expert Evolution Laser team will conduct a thorough skin scan to analyse and assess your main beauty concerns. Whether you’re ready to turn back the clock on ageing skin or reduce the appearance of stretch marks, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan that will help you reach your skin goals. Our derma needling treatment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete, and our skin therapists will provide you with a detailed aftercare plan.

What can I expect after my face needling Sydney treatment?

You may feel slight discomfort, which usually subsides within a few hours. We’ll provide detailed post-treatment care instructions, such as protecting your complexion from harmful UV rays with SPF 50+. For 48 hours post-skin needling, we suggest avoiding rigorous exercise, harsh chemicals or exfoliants and exposure to heat.

Any potential side effects or complications will be explained thoroughly during your initial consultation. If you have any questions or concerns after leaving your appointment, our team of skin therapists are here to help. Simply give us a call or visit one of our clinics.

How long does skin needling take?

Following your initial consultation, face needling in Sydney at Evolution Laser can be completed in less than an hour. The exact duration may vary depending on the size of the area being treated and your individual skin concerns.

How many derma needling sessions will I need?

While every patient is different, most people require around four to six sessions for permanent and consistent collagen induction. Each session should be spaced four to six weeks apart for optimal, skin-rejuvenating results. If you have questions about derma needling prices for follow-up sessions at Evolution Laser, get in touch with us today.

How long before I start to see results?

When you visit Evolution Laser and opt for face needling in Sydney, you’ll notice results almost immediately. As soon as the needle penetrates the skin, the body’s wound healing processes respond to quickly heal these small punctures. This means collagen production is accelerated, along with cellular turnover.
