Revlite Tattoo Removal

The RevLite Q-switched, Nd:YAG laser system enables the safe and effective removal of tattoos of all colours, on all skin types, without scarring.  The RevLite produces a nanosecond pulse which penetrates the skin and effectively targets tattoo ink within the dermis.

The RevLite’s PhotoAcoustic energy causes the tattoo ink to vibrate and shatter into tiny fragments which are consumed and eliminated by the body’s white blood cells.  Minimal thermal damage is experienced during the process, enabling the tattoo to be removed without scarring or permanent epidermal damage.

The effectiveness of tattoo removal is dependent on the colour, size, age, and location of the tattoo, as well as the type of ink used, and whether the tattoo was professionally applied.  During the tattoo removal process the tattoo will be temporarily whitened.  After a few minutes the original tattoo colour returns and gradually fades in the following weeks.  Discomfort experienced during the removal process can be minimised by cooling the area pre and post treatment and by using a topical anaesthetic.
