Laser Hair Removal
The advanced technologies of Candela Lasers are recognised as one of the most efficient and effective laser systems available today. Delivering unmatched performance and results in laser hair removal, and with the added advantage of the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) to provide consistent epidermal cooling, Candela Lasers provide safe, fast, and comfortable hair removal treatments for all skin types.
Candela medical grade lasers work by thermally damaging the hair follicle resulting in a permanent reduction of hair growth. The laser is either attracted to the melanin in the hair, photoselectively targeting the hair follicle with thermal energy, or thermal energy is delivered directly to the dermis retarding hair growth. Whilst the hair follicle experiences thermal damage, the surrounding tissue is unaffected, with minimal impact or risk to the skin.
Evolution Laser Clinic offers two types of laser for laser hair removal to safely treat all skin types:
- GentleLASE - 755nm medical grade Alexandrite laser, requires no downtime
- GentleYAG (for dark skin types) - 1064nm medical grade Nd:YAG laser, requires no downtime

We utilise Candela laser hair removal technologies for the best results
Candela Technologies are a highly regarded name in the laser hair removal industry and are renowned for being one of the most comfortable and effective products available in today’s market. The Candela laser hair removal options like the GentleLASE Alexandrite Laser delivers unmatched performance on all skin types and has a unique patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) which provides consistent epidermal cooling and guarantees comfort and safety for all patients.
The Lasers used through Candela laser hair removal are recognised as one of the most advanced technologies available today and are considered to be one of the most efficient and effective hair removal systems in the current market.
Types of Candela Laser Hair Removal Technologies
The GentleLASE and the GentleYAG are two types of medical grade lasers that permanently remove hair from the lightest to the darkest of skin types. Both these candela hair removal lasers emit optimal wave lengths of light that are best absorbed by the hair follicle or dermal papilla, while the surrounding skin is protected from thermal damage via the Dynamic Cooling Device. The Dynamic Cooling Device (patented) prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layers of the skin with a cooling burst of cryogen (ice) providing greater epidermal protection and patient comfort. The GentleLASE and the GentleYAG treat all skin types quickly, comfortably and effectively.
Candela Laser Hair Removal vs IPL
Clinical studies have confirmed that Candela laser hair removal is more effective than IPL or SPL. Both Laser and IPL emit light to cause thermal damage to the hair follicle. The difference in these two technologies is the wavelength of light.
- The GentleLASE and the GentleYAG emit a precise, near infra-red light at the single wavelength of 755nm and 1064nm respectively. These wavelengths produce optimal penetration and adsorption due to their coherent and low divergent properties, resulting in the destruction of the hair follicle.
- IPL emits a variety of wavelengths, 500nm to 1200nm, combining to produce a white light. These wavelengths are divergent and incoherent, resulting in scattering and interference. While the variety of wavelengths emitted by IPL makes it useful in treating several conditions, the scattering effect of these wavelengths reduces the power of the light, thus reducing its effectiveness in penetrating the skin and destroying the hair. It is also more likely to create adverse skin reactions.
