Anti-wrinkle injections are used to diminish facial wrinkles which occur due to our facial muscles making repeated facial expressions.  Botox, a natural purified protein that relaxes muscles, is injected into specific facial muscles making them relax, and therefore unable to contract and produce unwanted wrinkles.  Gradually, the lines and wrinkles associated with the facial expression, and new lines, are prevented from forming, resulting in smoother, younger looking skin.

After 2-3 days the treatment will start to take effect, with the full effect seen in 7-14 days.  Generally the treatment can last up to 4 months before the expression lines begin to return.  With successive repeated treatments, the effects may be prolonged.

After treatment the patient will be left with tiny “mosquito bite” marks that generally settle within an hour. Some patients may experience mild bruising.  Mineral make-up can be worn immediately after treatment to conceal any redness, however it is best to avoid vigorous physical activity, extreme heat, and rubbing the area for 24 hours post treatment.
